WATCH: ISIS fighters grin for camera before reported suicide bombing near Mosul

Footage claims to show ISIS supporters strike up big grins for the camera before a team of suicide bombers drive towards an Iraqi army base and blow themselves up.

The New York Post reports photos from an Arab news service reporter show British-born fighter named Abu Zakariya al-Britani smiling while sitting inside one of four cars used in a deadly attack on Monday.

The suicide bombing reportedly happened near Mosul, in northern Iraq.

Another fighter was also filmed (shown in video above) smiling cheerfully before he closes the car door and the vehicle drives off.

This video shows three of the four cars, claimed to have been used in the attack.

The cars appeared to be customised SUVs.

Al-Masdar (Arab News Source) reporter Chris Tomson shared photographs of the smiling Abu Zakariya al-Britani, claimed to be a British foreign fighter who joined ISIS in 2014.

Tomson also tweeted the other ISIS video.

Associated Press reports at least two of the jihadists involved managed to reach a base west of Mosul, where explosives were detonated and a number of army troops were killed and injured.

It’s not clear how many died in the attack, however an ISIS statement claimed there had been “many casualties”.

Iraqi forces have battled ISIS fighters in Mosul since last October after a US led offensive commenced to re-capture the terror stronghold.
