Man who avoided jail for 'upskirting' women allegedly caught filming again

The Sydney Trains employee who was sacked after admitting he filmed women using train station toilets has allegedly been caught 'upskirting' women again on Tuesday.

Michael Szafranek was fortunate to avoid an immediate jail term last month after he told a Sydney court he was "relieved" to be caught filming people using a disabled toilet at Rockdale Train Station.

A Sydney magistrate said Szafranek’s admission showed he had a good chance of rehabilitation, and sentenced the father-of-two to a nine-month suspended jail term.

Now it's alleged the 53-year-old is up to his old habits again, this time at Caringbah Station on Tuesday morning.

Szafranek is accused of recording up the skirt of a woman and will face court again later this month.

Szafranek's initial phone camera at Rockdale Station was only discovered when a female commuter asked him for directions to the toilet and spotted the hidden camera recording her using the bathroom in February.

Sydney Trains has since sacked the 53-year-old with NSW Transport and Infrastructure Minister Andrew Constance saying Szafranek "has no place in one of our organisations".
