Federal Election 2016: Poll reveals Labor's lead has evaporated
A 7 News exclusive Reachtel poll reveals Labor's lead has evaporated and the major parties are now neck-and-neck halfway through the election campaign.
The Reachtel poll of 824 residents across Australia shows Labor and Liberal are 50-50, showing that neither party has captured the imagination of voters.
Malcolm Turnbull remains preferred prime minister at day 26 of the campaign, but Bill Shorten has been dubbed the better campaigner.
Labor's primary vote is down 1.6 per cent while the Coalition, Greens and Xenophon Team are all up in the poll.
With four weeks to go, Mr Shorten is confronting history. The last time the Australian people threw out a first-term government was 84 years ago.
