Driver miraculously survives terrifying high-speed crash into parked cars

The horrifying moment a speeding driver smashed into parked cars in Campbellfield has been captured on security cameras.

Travelling at up to 150kph, a white Commodore can be seen flying down a quiet road before hitting the two cars, which were parked on the shoulder of the street.

In a heart-stopping second, the vehicle becomes airborne and flips into a nearby paddock along with a scattering of debris from the other cars.

Remarkably, the 30-year-old driver survived.

The crash happened in Campbellfield, about 4pm on Sunday and ended with the Commodore landing on its roof, taking emergency service workers 30 minutes to extract the driver from the overturned car.

Josh Allen owns one of the cars destroyed in the crash and had left the vehicle to walk his dog at Merry Creek - a decision he's now thankful for.

“I've definitely thought about that and I’m very lucky I’ve got a dog and have taken it for a walk, so very, very lucky,” he told 7 News.

The following day, Mr Allen retrieved his belongings from the twisted wreck and surveyed the damage to his car, and a friend's.

“The other car, the other grey Corolla that was parked there is pretty much gone, the driver's side is gone, that was my mate's car, so he could've been sitting in there."

The three cars involved in the wreck were almost unrecognisable, with the horrific images a reminder of how lucky the 30-year-old male driver was to escape.

He remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Police are yet to interview him over the incident.
