Leaked Australian Liberal Democratic Party discussion shows party members ripping into each other over tax-payer funded 'piss up'

A thread containing secret Liberal-Democratic Party election tactics has leaked showing a party pulling itself a part over how to host a 'piss-up' paid for by $50,000 in taxpayer funded election money.

Screenshots of the closed Facebook group discussion were leaked to BuzzFeed, showing how the "party of smallest government" is trying to compromise on its ideals in order to attract more votes and members.

But the brainstorming session caused several 'brain snaps' as members turned on each other over a number of points of conjecture.

The party was given $1 million in election funding via the Australian Electoral Commission on the back if its strong showing in the 2013 federal election, which saw David Leyonhjelm elected to the Senate.

Throughout the thread party members suggest having a keg party of sorts in which potential members would be given free beer tokens.

The libertarian party's party would also serve as a protest against the encroaching "nanny state" policies of Australian state and federal governments.

LDP party member and candidate Terje Petersen suggested the $50,000 should be used for a "massive piss up somewhere and invite everyone to come and enjoy a 'free beer'".

He added: “The way to stop it becoming a drunk fest is to simply hand out one free beer coupon per guest. And close the door when the venue is full.

"But make it a big venue with lots of visibility from outside and ready access for the media."

One member in South Australia even suggested giving away an Alder shotgun as a lucky door prize.

But the discussion quickly descended into an argument as members saw their critical posts deleted, leading to accusations of censorship and authoritarianism.

Members began launching personal attacks against Mr Petersen, calling his tactics "cultural Marxism" for deleting threads and suggesting should join the Liberal Party as they begged for Senator Leyonhjelm to intervene.

Mr Petersen shot back, saying robust discussion was welcome but "sabotage" was not, indicating he was aware screenshots were being leaked.

Eventually, Senator Leyonhjelm had to weigh in, telling party members to settle down or join the Greens.

Members were also very liberal in their criticism of Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, calling him "cuckservative" – a word that grew out of right-wing American discussion boards.

The word is a portmanteau of "cuckold" and "conservative" and has racial connotations relating a genre of pornography in which men watch their wives engage in intercourse with black men, BuzzFeed reports.
