Man dies on board Sydney flight

The NSW coroner is investigating the death of a man on board a flight from Santiago to Sydney that landed late on Thursday afternoon.

Qantas has confirmed to Yahoo7 News that the passenger, believed to be in his 70s, died from natural causes on board flight LA807 from Chile's capital.

Yahoo7 News understands the man died after suffering a heart attack three hours into the 12 hour flight.

He was pronounced dead after two doctors and a nurse on board administered CPR for over 40 minutes.

AFP members attended until NSW Police took carriage of the scene to conduct enquiries for the coroner.
