Caught on camera: Truck side swipes car

A dashcam has captured a frightening near miss on a busy motorway in Queensland.

The vision, uploaded to Dashcam Australia’s Facebook page on Friday, shows a truck and car driving alongside each other on the Gateway Motorway on August 14.

As the truck drives up behind a car, it suddenly moves to change lanes but fails to notice the vehicle beside it.

Debris can be seen flying across the road as the truck side swipes the car.

The truck driver then changes back into the left lane, forcing another car to swerve out of the way to avoid a collision.

The driver of the other car immediately pulled over in an emergency stopping lane, with the truck stopping further up the motorway.

This is the latest in a long line of distressing, but sometimes amusing, dash cam footage in Australia. Here are some of Yahoo7's top picks.
