Thief steals cash belt at fuel station and drags attendant

Footage has emerged of a man in the US robbing a petrol station attendee of his cash belt before grabbing him and dragging him along the ground with his car.

According to police, the robber pulled into a petrol station in Middletown and asked the attendee for $10 worth of petrol.

After paying, the thief can be seen reaching his arm out as the attendee's body is turned and snatching his cash apron.

The crook then speeds off dragging the worker 10 metres towards the highway.

Luckily the apron ripped off, causing the worker to smash to the ground as the driver escaped.

The apron contained around $1,500.

Thieves can be bold, brazen, stupid or just plain gutless.

Police say a stolen truck was used to crash through the glass foyer of a Mowbray shopping complex.

The robbers used a heavy chain to drag an ATM onto the pavement where a second stolen vehicle was used to drag the machine one kilometre down the road.

Police followed the drag marks to find the abandoned vehicle and ATM, which the thieves failed to break open.
