Disgusting: horsehair parasite emerges from cricket
A man who killed a cricket got a nasty surprise when a horsehair worm parasite slithered out of the corpse.
He obviously wasn’t too grossed out to capture the whole thing on camera, for us to enjoy.
Horsehair worms take control of cricket’s central nervous system and use it as an incubator for its larvae.
If the man had not stamped this cricket out, the worm would have eventually got free by boring holes through the insects exoskeleton.
