Fitzy and Wippa reveal cheating website surprise on live radio
More than 700 Australian government officials and police have been caught up in the Ashley Madison hack – while one husband was outed on breakfast radio.
Nova FM hosts Fitzy and Wippa were discussing the dump of millions of user information hacked from the website with the tagline: "Life's short. Have an affair."
The radio hosts showed how easy it is to find individual users, meaning some philanderers might soon find out how short life can be.
“We’ve found a website that all you need to do is put in an email address or a username and it will tell you if your name has popped up on Ashley Madison,” said Fitzy.
A single woman identified as "Sally from Glebe" called in to reveal she has used the site to meet single men.
“It’s not just for cheating, even though that’s how it’s marketed,” she said.
She was followed by a woman using the alias "Jo from Blacktown", who voiced her suspicions about her husband's changed behavior possibly alluding to an affair.
“When that little thing came on the news about the Ashley Madison hack he sort of went a bit funny and I looked at [her husband] and said, ‘What’s up?’ and he said, ‘Nothing’,” said Jo.
“I asked him straight out and he said, ‘Don’t be stupid, we’re married, we’ve got two kids’.”
The mother admitted her suspicions were piqued when his work hours changed significantly.
“His hours have changed, his phone’s very close to him now, bits of money, where have they gone? He’s very snippy.”
Fitzy said he felt like he was on an episode of Jerry Springer when they banged Jo's husband's details into the document dump they said they had access to.
“We’re putting him into this website right now and his details have revealed that he’s actually on the website Jo."
Jo was silent for a moment before asking: "Are you serious?"
“Yeah I’m sorry,” said Fitzy.
“Are you freaking kidding me? These websites are disgusting and that girl that called before, she should be ashamed of herself,” said a furious Jo before hanging up the phone.
“I don’t know if we should have done that,” said Wippa.
It's not only Jo's husband likely in for domestic hell. According to a breakdown of the site's data by AG News there are scores of government officials' emails listed on the site with defence and education departments being home to the most adulterous civil servants.
Security experts who have examined the leaks believe the 30 million users' who info has been appearing online in recent days is genuine, revealing users' names, emails and sexual fantasies.
