Mum finds 'world's deadliest' spider nest in banana

A mum says she is terrified that she is now sharing her suburban home with one of the world’s most deadly spiders.

Michaela Egan, 24, took to Facebook to tell the tale of how she found a white ‘cocoon’ on the last banana in the bunch that she had purchased from her local supermarket.

The mother of two, from Rainham, Essex, was soon inundated with messages and suggestions that the webbing belonged to to a Brazilian wandering spider, ranked in the Guinness World Records as the world’s most dangerous, reports Metro.

The spider’s bite can kill in as little as two hours and male victims may suffer a painful erection that can last as long as four hours.

Michaela immediately put the banana in a sealed bag and took it back to supermarket Tesco but she is frightened that the spider has laid eggs and the family are living among them.

Michela said: “I just couldn’t believe it when I saw it.

“I knew it was some sort of spider because of the webbing.

‘It’s really scary to think that I could have just handed it to my daughter or put it in her packed lunch.

“The banana had been there for four days so anything could have happened, I’m really scared they’re in the house.”

A Tesco spokesman said: “We set ourselves the highest standards for the quality of our produce."

“Our customer service team are investigating this enquiry and will be in touch with Ms Egan as soon as possible.”

This is not the first time dangerous spiders have made their homes in pieces of fruit or just trying to make human homes their own.

This footage of a spider crawling out of a banana went viral but questions were raised about whether it was real or fake.

This mobile phone footage showing a spider crawling out of a man's ear canal before burrowing back inside also went viral.

But the owner admitted a few days after posting it that it was a fake.

This is your worst nightmare come true.

An Australian guy smashed a spider with a broom and it has exploded with hundreds of baby spiders.

Viewer Sian Kalfas sent in this creepy video of a spider she found hiding under her door handle.

And last but not least this but could only happen in Australia.

This man spotted a big spider hiding in the bowl just before he was about to go to the toilet.
