Third shark at Bondi
A shark was spotted at Sydney's Bondi Beach on Saturday afternoon, making it the third shark to come close to the shore as two other great whites were found in the nets earlier this week.
Lifesavers spotted the shark in the water and set off the alarm across the packed beach.
Swimmers cleared the water while lifesavers on jetskis worked to deter the shark back out to sea.
The shark was, according to a witness, around three metres long.
"It was moving across the beach toward the north end. It surfaced quite a few times," witness Karl Hayes told the Sydney Morning Herald.
"It was a bit of excitement, that's for sure. Everyone got out of the water very quickly."
The beach was declared safe about 45 minutes later and swimmers returned to the water.
This is the third shark that has been spotted at Bondi in jsut four days. A 2.5 metre great white shark was found during regular patrols on Wednesday, and another one was caught in the nets on Friday.
