'Is this legit?' Gold Coast mum revealed as $30 million Oz Lotto winner
More details are emerging about Australia’s latest Oz Lotto winner including what she was doing when she learned she scooped the jackpot.
A young Gold Coast mum, living in Burleigh, held the only division one winning entry from Tuesday night’s Oz Lotto draw and took home $30 million.
The woman, aged in her 30s, told lottery officials about the moment she found out she had won the top prize. She said she was enjoying a cup of tea.
“I actually checked the draw results before, but they weren’t ready, so I went and had a shower,” she said.
The mum did not believe the news and asked: “is this legit?”
She was enjoying a cup of tea while the kids were in bed and called the win “life-changing”.
“It’s amazing,” she said.
She added she swapped out her cuppa for something else to celebrate the big win.

The mum said she, like many Australians, has had “such a strange year” due to coronavirus.
“Our family’s lives have been turned upside down,” she said.
“But with this, we can set ourselves up, set our kids up, set our family up. It will change our lives, and we’ll want to share that kindness with others.
“It’s a lot to take on board.”
The winning numbers were 27, 42, 31, 38, 37, 3 and 39, while the supplementary numbers were 17 and 10.
Five winners also scooped the division two prize pool and each took home more than $85,000.
