Prospector trip to be entertaining

The seven hour train ride to and from Perth on the Prospector is set to seem a lot shorter soon with the installation of new at-seat entertainment.

State-of-the-art touch screens will be installed at every seat in the first railcar by the end of the year and at the remaining seats early next year.

Public Transport Authority spokeswoman Alison Martyn said the entertainment would rival that enjoyed on aircraft around the world.

“The Prospector is getting the most modern entertainment system of any train in Australia,” she said.

“People will be able to choose from a range of movies, including new releases and TV programs.

“It is likely there will be different genres available such as comedy, drama, kids’, sport and documentaries.”
