Delevingne spotted in local label

International modelling sensation Cara Delevingne and former Disney star Selena Gomez sent international news sites into a spin when they were seen gallivanting around St Tropez together late last month.

But it was even more of a shock to Perth designer Kat Furey when she realised that the black bikini worn by Delevingne, right, in many of the paparazzi shots was from her burgeoning Palm Swimwear brand.

"When we first saw the image, we were in disbelief - we thought another label had used the exact same design as us," said Furey who was in London at the time with co-designer Ben Arnold.

"It took us a moment to see that she was actually wearing Palm. Once we realised it we were over the moon - we ran to the closest newspaper stand and flicked through every paper in the UK."

The designers, who launched the label earlier this year, said the blonde beauty was their ultimate inspiration and seeing her in the two-piece was a "massive compliment" to the brand.

"The fact that we are a new label originally from WA makes all of this even more exciting," Furey said.

The two creatives plan to launch their spring/summer collection, which features Delevingne's bikini, later this year.
