Romance rumours for Sam

Samantha Armytage has attempted to cool rumours of a blossoming romance with Modern Family star Eric Stonestreet after being grilled on the topic by her Sunrise co-hosts yesterday.

Reports recently emerged the blonde bombshell enjoyed a five-hour lunch with the US actor while he was in Sydney filming an Australian special with the rest of the show's cast last month.

The two are said to have connected via Twitter when Armytage, left, spoke of her wish to meet Stonestreet during the trip.

They are said to have kept in touch even after Stonestreet returned to the States and are rumoured to be trying a long-distance relationship.

When asked about their date by Seven's Sunrise co-host David Koch yesterday, Armytage remained tight-lipped on the details of the lunch.

"No I'm not going to tell you, it's none of your business," she said. "It was lunch, it was fine, it was lovely."

But Armytage might have revealed more than she planned when her co-presenters said they could not imagine Stonestreet "not being gay in real life" like his Modern Family character, Cameron Tucker.

"He's definitely not gay in real life," she said.

Armytage then tried to divert the conversation once more, saying she would not reveal everything she and Stonestreet spoke about over the five-hour date.

"He's a lovely man, very funny, very lovely, very different," she added. "He's a likable bloke."

Armytage is not Stonestreet's first Aussie conquest. The actor was previously linked to Dancing with the Stars judge, Kym Johnson.
