Angelina Jolie spotted in Sydney

Angelina Jolie was gone in a flash after touching down in Sydney for a brief visit.

Jolie, who was named this week as the world's highest paid actress, made a surprise 24-hour trip to the harbour city on Wednesday after flying in from Japan with her son Pax.

But the trip was short-lived and the mother and son left on a private jet the next day at 8.30am.

Photos have emerged of the star boarding the jet dressed in her favoured all black, waering pants, a T-shirt and cardigan rolled up at the sleeves, which she paired with comfy boots.

A black jacket was casually slung over her arm while she also carried a large beige Birkin bag and had a coffee in hand for the early morning flight.

The photos of Jolie are reportedly set to appear in a woman's magazine next week.

It's believed the she had met with representatives of UNICEF while in Sydney.

Jolie is a goodwill ambassador of the UN's refugee agency, UNHCR.

There's been recent speculation about Jolie and hubby Brad Pitt making Sydney their home while they filmed the remake of Disney's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.

Hollywood executives have reportedly been in talks with the federal government to see the blockbuster made in Australia.

But Pitt dropped out of the project a month after agreeing to take the lead, according to industry website The Playlist.
