Arsonists target Karawara salon

A deliberately lit fire at a Karawara hairdressing salon has caused tens of thousands of dollars damage.

Arson Squad detectives are investigating the fire at the Waterford Plaza Shopping Centre salon, which occurred about 2am.

Two offenders smashed a window in the store before they placed a green wheelie bin inside and set the bin on fire.

Department of Fire and Emergency Services firefighters extinguished the blaze before it could spread to nearby businesses.

The extent of the damage is estimated at $50,000.

Detectives have released CCTV images in an attempt to identity two people.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Rewards of up to $50,000 are available for information that leads to the identification and conviction of an arsonist.
