Don't worry - there is life after Year 12 exams

Around 76,000 students will sit the Higher School Certificate in coming weeks and now there is an internet campaign offering advice that is easier to give than to follow.

In a word: Relax.

Politicians and celebrities have joined the mental health initiative to reassure students there is life after the HSC.

It's a simple idea, with a simple message.

The message is delivered by political leaders, celebrities, sports stars people who might have stressed a bit themselves in Year 12, but with hindsight, realise they should not have let it stress them out so much.

Communications Minister Malcolm Turnbull, Home and Away star Demi Harman and Rugby league great Nathan Hindmarsh are just three of names involved, urging pupils 'don’t let it stress you out so much – life changes'.

Jonathon Nicholas, from Reach Out, said: "This is an incredibly stressful time where many are really struggling to see a life after the exams."

The campaign has the backing of the Board of Studies and is not only designed to get students to relax, and to appreciate perspective, but also how to deal with failure.
