Perth father fights for life after being stabbed in the neck
A Perth father-of-two has been placed in an induced coma after being stabbed in the neck as he took out his bins.
Police say the 43-year-old got into an argument with another man outside his Lockridge home on Monday night before he was attacked.
The man’s 15-year-old son heard his father’s screams and raced to the front of the Scanlon Way home.
He then found his father collapsed in a pool of blood.
The teen used towels to try and stem the bleeding until paramedics arrived.
The 43-year-old was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery.
The man’s family says if it wasn’t for the 15-year-old’s quick actions, the man may have bled to death.
“It’s really bad that there’s still people like that who would want to do that to other people,” neighbour Greg Corcoran said.
Detectives returned to the scene on Tuesday, gathering evidence in a bid to find the attacker.
The 43-year-old man was placed in an induced coma, with his condition critical.
Anyone with information on the attack is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
