Woman discovers brown snake sleeping inside Ugg boot

This is the stuff nightmares are made of....

A sneaky snake has managed to slither its way into a woman's woolly Ugg boot for a not-so-welcome nap.

The shocked resident called Snake Catchers Adelaide when the unassuming owner of the Ugg Boot went to pick up her shoe and made the stunning discovery.

The resident claims she first saw what she now understands to be the tip of the tail disappear into her boot.

The shoes were outside the Adelaide home, located in Moana, in the city’s south.

The weather in the region in currently still slightly too chilly for snakes, so its appearance caught everyone off guard.

"It saw her and shot into her Ugg boot," Snake Catcher Adelaide manager Rolly Burrell told ABC.

"We picked up the shoe, tipped it out and dropped it into the bag. It was pretty easy to do."

Burrell told the ABC that the company removes a snake from a shoe approximately once a year.

According to the snake wrangler, last year's snake surprise came from inside a rubber boot that had been hung upside down on a rack.

He said it had been such a cold winter and "everything wants to come out".

It is not yet clear if the owner of the Ugg boots has moved them inside her residence since the uninvited guest made its recent visit.

So far it has been a slow start to the 2016 snake season but things are certainly now heating up.
