Lions hunt and kill kudu in front of traffic in South Africa

A busy line up of traffic wasn’t enough to stop two hungry lions chase their prey in South Africa.

British wildlife researcher Carrie Dunford, 23, witnessed the incredible act as two lions devoured a kudu in front of the cars.

Ms Dunford managed to capture the act on camera as the cats take down the helpless kudu – a type of antelope – in Kruger National Park on July 10.

A video posted on the Kruger Sightings YouTube also shows the lions appear from out of the grass, not bothered by the large 4WD’s headed towards them.

The majestic lions were filmed from inside another car, only metres away.

Ms Dunford said the lions took half an hour to eat their prey in front of the cars, before they dragged it off the road.
