Obama visits South Dakota to 'mend' little girl's broken heart
A little girl wrote a letter, and the leader of the free world listened.
Rebecca Kelly was so upset Barack Obama hadn’t visited her home state of South Dakota she decided to write him a letter demanding an explanation.
“I wanted to know why you haven't visited South Dakota?” the 11-year-old wrote to the president.
“We are the warmest of the Dakotas, we have Mt. Rushmoore [sic], and when I just go to the park, I sometimes see coyotes, hawks, and bald eagles.
“Please visit us soon.”
Rebecca ended her letter with a picture of a hand drawn heart: “Ps. This is my heart because you haven’t visited South Dakota."
“Sadly, Rebecca.”
Moved by her letter, Mr Obama decided to pay South Dakota a visit.
He touched down in the mid-west on Friday to “mend” Rebecca’s aching heart.

But the president did much more than that.
"I got to shake his hand and it was just so amazing," Rebecca told Kelo News.
"I never thought in a million years that I would ever meet the President ever.
"I want to say thank you so much. There are no words to describe my joy. There's just none."
Mr Obama has now visited every state as president, making him only the fourth American leader to set foot in all 50 states.
