Stolen ashes of Vic triplets recovered
A box containing the ashes of stillborn triplets stolen from a Melbourne home has been handed to police.
A 17-year-old boy found the box, which had been broken open, in Melton on Saturday.
It was taken from a Kurunjang home during a burglary in which thieves also took laptops, jewellery and a smart phone.
The mother of the triplets made a plea to the thieves to return to ashes after the box was discovered missing.
The box was wrapped in tape and looked like a parcel when it was snatched from the home.
The box will be forensically tested before being returned to the family on Sunday morning.
