Body found in burnt car at Parrakie no longer suspicious, police say

A body found in a burnt car at Parrakie, about 180 kilometres east of Adelaide, is no longer being treated as suspicious by police.

Local Criminal Investigation Branch and Major Crime detectives have investigated the site at the intersection of Parrakie North Road and Mosgiel Road.

Patrols were called to the intersection early on Wednesday after a passerby reported a burnt-out car.

At the time, Superintendent Les Buckley said the car was locally owned and police had not ruled out foul play.

He also said it appeared as though accelerant had been used on the car.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
