Woman accused over daughter's crash death

An Adelaide woman accused of causing the death of her four-year-old daughter in a car crash has avoided being arrested after finally turning up to court.

But supporter of Kylie Anne Hie, who abused the media, pushed a TV cameraman and stood in his way on Tuesday was later spoken to by police outside the Adelaide Magistrates Court.

Hie, 32, of Clearview, is charged with an aggravated count of causing death by dangerous driving.

Her daughter Charlotte died in November 2013 when the van Hie was driving ran into the back of a truck on the South Eastern Freeway.

When she did not turn up for a court appearance in August, her lawyer said she had sent him a message that morning saying she was ill.

Magistrate Bob Harrap then issued a warrant for her arrest but ordered it to lie on file until Tuesday when her matter was listed for 10am.

Only her lawyer was present when Hie's name and the magistrate agreed to hold the matter in the list until 11.30am.

Hie and her supporters arrived later, when the magistrate placed her on bail.

Her lawyer said he would be making no-case submissions in due course.

The matter was adjourned to October 7.
