Thief storms over Melbourne servo counter in armed robbery
Confronting CCTV images have been released of a terrifying armed robbery in Melbourne.
Two men can be seen storming into a service station in Preston in the city's north earlier this month.
One of masked offenders threatens the Preston attendant at gunpoint while the other jumps over the counter and attacks the 23-year-old.
The pair allegedly stole cash and cigarettes before fleeing on foot but the shop assistant was uninjured.
They're still on the run and Victoria Police have released the footage in the hope of gaining assistance from the public.
It’s believed the men had been in the Bell Street area for up to two hours prior to the robbery.
The thieves were thought to be Caucasians of medium build with one wearing a black hooded top, black track pants with white detail down the side, and a black mask, police said.
The other was wearing a white jumper, blue pants, black shoes, and had a black cloth covering his face.
The second man was armed with what appeared to be a handgun.
