WATCH: Koala joins triathlete for cycling training session
An Australian triathlete has gained himself an unlikely training partner when a koala decided to join him while cycling through Adelaide Hills.
Steve McKenna was training on his bike in October when he found the koala picking up pace on the bitumen next to him.
He and a friend saw the koala in Norton Summit and paused to film the marsupial.
Instead of stopping for a break, the koala decided to show its speed and sprint ahead.
Despite the steep hill, the koala pushed on and ran past the cyclists.
It’s not the first time Mr McKenna found a native animal training companion.
He recently found a kangaroo skipping alongside his bike while preparing for a triathlon.
