Teen Melbourne hit and run victim dies
One of two teenagers badly injured in a Melbourne hit-run crash has lost his fight for life in hospital.
Anthony Nguyen and Jasmine Vuong, both 17, were crossing on a green pedestrian light when they were struck by the car at Delahey, in the city's northwest, about 11.30pm on Tuesday and flung a distance up the road.
The pair, both of nearby Kings Park, were taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
Anthony suffered life-threatening head injuries and died on Wednesday evening, police said.
Jasmine remains there in a critical condition.

The teenagers were due to start year 12 today.
Detective Inspector Bernie Rankin of the major collision investigation group says police have recovered debris, including part of a headlight with a serial number on it from the crash site and CCTV footage he believes will lead to the driver.
But he says that person should come forward now.
"I'm sure a court will look a little bit more favourably upon what you've done if you voluntarily surrender yourself," he told reporters in comments directed at the motorist.
He said the vehicle, a light coloured 4WD station wagon, had severe damage on the passenger side as well as a broken headlight and possibly a smashed windscreen and dented bonnet.
Victoria's road toll is 24, three more than at the same time last year.
