C *hris Hemsworth *couldn't bear the thought of raising his kids among Hollywood's "bull.…".

After a stint among smarmy producers and directors, the Aussie star and his family are based at NSW's Byron Bay.

The 31-year-old, who graces the cover of this month's GQ, right, told the mag people treated him differently after he found success.

"Some directors and producers who never gave a s...," he said. "Next time I saw them, they're my best friend. That's gross."

He also said he'd become "fired up" when paparazzi would scare his children.

"Nah mate, you don't have the right to do that," he said, referring to an imaginary paparazzo. "I don't give a f… what anyone says - you're not a bonus to my career."

Scared that his family would fall prey to its seedy side, he turned his back on Tinseltown.

"You start to think of it as the norm . . . and that's the danger," he said. "If this is life, I'm not raising my kids here."
