Lambie votes against revised social services bill

Controversial Palmer United Party senator Jacqui Lambie has split with the party to vote against a revised social services bill.

The bill was successfully passed by the Coalition with the support of Labor and crossbenchers including PUP senators Dio Wang and Glen Lazarus.

Lambie stood by her claim that the legislation included an unfair pay deal for defense personnel.

The senator says she intends to vote against all legislation she believes inadequately supports service men and women, regardless of how the rest of her party votes.

“I will vote against all Government legislation until the men and women of our Army, Navy, RAAF receive a fair pay rise and their Christmas entitlement leave back.”
