Police arrest Hells Angels, Nomads members in Gold Coast raids

Detectives from Queensland's Taskforce Maxima have executed search warrants on the Gold Coast, arresting two members of the Hells Angels and one member of the Nomads Outlawed Motorcycle Gangs.

Queensland police carried out search warrants at Gold Coast addresses as a result of ongoing investigations into criminal offences by members of Outlawed Motorcycle Gangs (OMCG).

Police said the raids on two Varsity Lakes addresses resulted in them seizing restricted drugs and steroids on November 29.

A 26-year-old man from Varsity Lakes was arrested and charged with drug possession.

Police allege the man is a patched member of the Hells Angels OMCG Gold Coast chapter.

A 27-year-old also from Varsity Lakes was also arrested and charged with drug possession.

Police allege he is an office bearer of the Hells Angels OMCG Gold Coast chapter.

The men are due to appear at a Southport Magistrates Court on January 9 next year.

Police said a search warrant executed at a Carrara address on Wednesday allegedly resulted in the discovery of cannabis and approximately 75 grams of the drug ice and drug utensils.

Following this a 44-year-old man from Carrara, who police said was a patched member of the Nomads OMCG Gold Coast chapter, was arrested.

He was charged with possession of ammunition and dangerous drugs and several related charges and is due to appear in court on December 1.

A 32-year-old woman from Carrara was arrested and charged with drug and ammunition possession as well as other related charges.

She is due to appear in court on January 10.

A 33-year-old woman from Chevron Island was also arrested and charged over the possession of tainted property relating to a counterfeit $50 dollar note and drug possession.

"Once again, we are finding OMCG members in possession of dangerous drugs," Detective Superintendent Michael Niland from Task Force Maxima said.

"Members of this OMCG gang have been arrested on multiple occasions and they need to understand, if they continue to offend they will be targeted. We make no apologies for this."

"Offenders need to understand enforcement action will be taken whenever we have the sufficient evidence."

"We will come back as many times as it is necessary. The community expect us to do this and accordingly, we will be unrelenting in our efforts," Detective Superintendent Michael Niland said.
