Heartbreaking photo captures little girl’s cancer battle

A father-of-four has shared a heartbreaking photo of his daughter’s last remaining eyelash, showing the toll of months of chemotherapy.

Melbourne comedian Andrew Brown’s daughter Hayley was diagnosed with cancer in June after doctors found a five-centimetre tumour inside her nose.

Given the discovery, the brave little seven-year-old started her eight-month radiation and chemotherapy plan.

“That one last eyelash has been hanging on, on it's own, for a few weeks now,” Mr Brown captioned.

The doting dad said his daughter’s hair was the first to go due to the treatment, but her eyelashes proved stronger to budge.

“Right through people, including her older sister, always said how jealous they were of her beautiful big eyelashes,” Mr Brown told Kidspot.

'She doesn’t really realise they’re gone, people stopped talking about them.”

The brave seven-year-old still five more weeks of radiation and two more rounds of chemotherapy before doctors devise a new treatment option.

Until then, family friend Andrea Huggins has continued to fundraise for the Brown family to help Hayley’s parents Andrew and Leia pay for medical and associated costs.
