Teens arrested after Melbourne car chase

Two teenagers have been arrested following a police pursuit of a stolen car in Melbourne's east.

Officers attempted to intercept a car on Albert Avenue in Boronia about 2.30am on Thursday and a pursuit began when the car failed to stop.

It's alleged the car reached speeds of 80km/h before three offenders jumped out as it approached a bend on Army Road.

A 15-year-old Boronia girl was arrested at the scene, while a 16-year-old boy was arrested a short time later with the assistance of Dog Squad members.

Both are currently in custody, assisting police with their inquiries.

A third offender, believed to be male, is still being sought.

It was later discovered the car was stolen earlier in the evening.
