Police investigate impersonator

An 18-year-old female driver has been pulled over by a car she thought was an unmarked police car on Brisbane's northside.

The teenager was driving on South Pine Road near the Eatons Hill early this morning, when a car activated red and blue flashing lights.

When she stopped, the man driving the car approached her and claimed he was a police officer. She became suspicious and drove off.

He then followed the teenager until she drove Carseldine Police Station.

The man is described as Pacific Islander in appearance, aged in his late 30’s with an olive complexion, with short black hair.

It's believed he was wearing long tanned coloured pants, a long sleeve orange high visibility shirt and work boots.

The car he was driving is believed to be a sky blue Ford Falcon ute, with a green P plate attached.

The Queensland police service says all on duty police officers are required to carry official QPS identification, whether in plain clothes or not. This comprises of a metal QPS badge an identification card, complete with officer's name, registration number and photograph.

Police urge anyone who might find themselves in a similar situation to keep their doors locked and windows closed, request to see the person’s police identification, and advise the person they are calling police to verify their identity.

The woman was not injured, but police are continuing their investigations.
