Truckie hailed for rolling to avoid crash on Adelaide freeway
A truckie has been praised after taking his rig off road when his brakes failed on the South Eastern Freeway in Adelaide.
In doing so he managed to avoid a potentially disastrous crash.
It is understood the driver deliberately drove off the road to bring his truck to a stop, avoiding ploughing through the busy intersection at the bottom of the freeway.
The arrester bed above the tunnels had already been used by another truck so it appears the driver did all he could.
The whole incident was reportedly captured on freeway cameras and authorities are reviewing the vision to piece together exactly what happened.
