Riot police called after Sydney teen allegedly stabbed at house party

Riot police were called to a house party in Sydney's northwest after a teenager was allegedly stabbed in the stomach.

Police arrived at Nelson Road in Box Hill just after midnight on Sunday and found about 100 people at the party.

At the gathering, a male teenager was allegedly stabbed in his stomach following an "altercation".

After speaking with partygoers, police arrested a 17-year-old boy and took him to Castle Hill Police Station.

He has since been charged with wound with intent.

The victim was taken to Blacktown Hospital by his friends and has since been transported to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition, awaiting surgery.

He was granted conditional bail to appear in a children’s court on Thursday 29 September 2016.
