Early education focus from SA Thinker in Residence

A report from an internationally-renowned advocate for children has been released containing recommendations for the future of South Australia’s early education system.

Professor Carla Rinaldi said Premier Jay Weatherill was the first head of state to support her approach and the Reggio Emilia Philosophy.

This approach is an educational philosophy focused on preschool and primary education and how these early years of development form who children are as individuals.

Among Professor Rinaldi’s recommendations is the creation if an integrated system of services for children from birth to the age of six and making sure care and education of young children are not separated.
