Workmates scoop huge lotto jackpot after playing for 12 years

A group of 11 Adelaide factory workers have had one of the best Monday meetings ever after their syndicate claimed $1.2 million from weekend X Lotto.

A member of the syndicate said she learned of the win on Saturday, but chose not to tell her workmates about their winnings until their Monday meeting.

“I just wanted to make sure it was real,” she said.

“We’ve been playing this syndicate for about 12 years now. Always with the same numbers.

“We all chose a few numbers ourselves, and then let the terminal choose the rest.”

The woman added a number of them “have been really struggling lately”.

“This is going to change so many lives,” she said.

“I’d say most of us will be making a big payment towards our mortgages.

“There also might be a few holidays in there as well. We’ll just have to make sure we don’t all go at once.”

The winning numbers were 30, 45, 1, 21, 32 and 25, while the supplementaries were 31 and 39.
