Two of WWE's biggest female stars have hit back at Ronda Rousey’s disparaging remarks about the sport.

The UFC icon turned professional wrestler spoke with Steve-O of “Jackass” fame on his “Wild Ride” podcast recently and was candid about her experience in the WWE.

Rousey seemingly shut the door on a return to the WWE after lashing out at “f***ing ungrateful fans" of the sport.

“What am I doing it for if I’m not being able to spend my time and energy on my family, but instead spending my time and my energy on a bunch of f***ing ungrateful fans that don’t even appreciate me?” Rousey said.

“The thing is, I love performing. I love the girls. I love being out there.

“But, at the end of the day, I was just like, ‘F*** these fans, dude.’

“My family loves me. They appreciate me. I want all of my energy to go into them.”

Rousey also took aim at WWE's "fake fights" in a comment that has since drawn the ire of two leading female stars, as well as plenty of fans.

Alexa Bliss and Lana both took exception to Rousey's remarks, albeit with differing degrees of tact.

While Bliss' (AKA Alexis Kaufman) response was more subtle, Lana launched a scathing spray at Rousey for having the audacity to claim the sport was fake.

However, Rousey has since doubled down on her criticism in a savage Instagram post.

The 33-year-old takes a shot at pro wresters' "huge soft egos" and insists most of them have no concept of what a "real" fight is.

Rousey refuses to rule out return to WWE

Rousey walked away from wrestling to try and start a family with her MMA partner Travis Browne.

When asked about her possible return to WWE on an After the Bell podcast in January, Rousey left the door ajar somewhat.

"Probably whenever the hell I feel like it," she said.

Judging by her latest comments about the sport, Rousey isn't likely to be welcomed back with open arms if she does make a comeback.

While toxic feedback from some wrestling fans soured Rousey’s WWE experience (although she remains under contract through 2021), the UFC icon said her time with the organisation gave her a newfound respect for wrestling performers.

“I love the WWE,” Rousey told Steve-O.

UFC“I had such a great time. I love all the girls in the locker room.

“Running out there and having fake fights for fun is just the best thing.

“I love choreography. I love acting. I love theatre. Live theatre and some of the last forms of live theatre.”
