Shocking new claims have emerged about the past of accused drug smuggler Cassie Sainsbury, while her fiancé has fled Colombia, touching down in Los Angeles on Monday.

It's reported the 22-year-old had been a sex worker in western Sydney, and smuggled drugs to save her family.

Ms Sainsbury reportedly worked as a fly-in-fly-out employee for Club 220 in Penrith.

In it's online advertising, the brothel describes itself as a "discreet Gentleman's Club providing our clientele with the best possible adult experience" and a "5 Star establishment with gorgeous ladies".

Ms Sainsbury's fiancé Scott Broadbridge is adamant she was duped, revealing his take on the saga before jetting out of Colombia amid fears he had become a person of interest in the case.

As she travelled to London, via Bogota for work, Ms Sainsbury was tricked into being a drug mule for a Colombian cartel, according to Mr Broadbridge.

But gaps in the story have started to emerge.

Around the middle of last year, Ms Sainsbury told Mr Broadbridge she was working for a cleaning company owned by her uncle Neil Sainsbury.

“Well, that's a claim that I categorically deny,” Neil Sainsbury said on Seven's Sunday Night program.

“I've never owned a cleaning business. I've never owned any business.”

Also according to Ms Sainsbury, her uncle sold his business to a mysterious couple named Karen and June Dolshol.

In her new role, Mr Broadbridge says she was regularly flying to Sydney to meet clients on behalf of the Dolshols, earning up to $1800 dollars a week, often in cash.

Mr Broadbridge told Sunday Night he could not recall the name of the company.

New revelations suggest Ms Sainsbury might have been flying to Sydney for other reasons.

It's been reported she was leading a secret double life, flying to Sydney to work as a prostitute.

According to Mr Broadbridge, Ms Sainsbury's mystery cleaning bosses asked her to meet clients overseas.

“They offered her you know the opportunity to go to London, you know, so she took it,” he said.

But her flight was rerouted through Colombia.

When she arrived, Ms Sainsbury checked into a hotel that was not on the tourist trail.

It's a busy hotel, and at three metres by three metres, Ms Sainsbury’s is the smallest and cheapest room in the building.

Ms Sainsbury paid for it in cash two days at a time.

In Bogota, Ms Sainsbury told Mr Broadbridge she met a local guide by the name of Angelo.

It was Angelo who allegedly gave Cassie the 18 sets of headphones that were later found to conceal 5.8 kilograms of cocaine, with a street value in Australia of $1.7 million.

“I believe that Cassie has a bit of a history of, um... Skipping from one place to the next when things get a bit tough,” Neil Sainsbury said.

“I don't honestly believe that she was naive at all. Perhaps she may have had knowledge of what she was doing.”

It's a view also held by Ms Sainsbury's father.

“I can't sit here and lie and say innocent, guilty, there are just 68 different stories,” Stuart Sainsbury said.

In yet another twist, Ms Sainsbury's fiancé's story is now being seriously questioned.

'Well now Scott needs to get his story right, doesn’t he? Because I am not sitting and watching this crap anymore,” Ms Sainsbury’s father Stuart said.

And in court documents tendered by her legal team, Ms Sainsbury says she was forced to fly to Bogota, or her life and her family's life would be in danger.
