Pre-school teacher sacked for dragging child down hallway
A US pre-school teacher has been sacked after a photograph emerged showing her dragging a child down a hallway.
The incident occurred at Wilson School in Youngstown, Ohio, with the image coming to light after another teacher spotted the child being dragged by the arm.
The teacher’s employer said it was an unacceptable act that unfairly reflected poorly on her colleagues.
“These fine teachers and aides should not be unfairly portrayed as anything less because of the person who was terminated,” Alta Care Group CEO Joseph Shorokey said, according to WKBN.
Alta Care Group’s Alta Head Start program, in which the child was enrolled, caters to about 845 students.
The group said it had apologised to the child’s parents and also the broader community.
