'I know when to stop': Teacher jailed after sending naked selfies to students
A teacher has been jailed for three years after sending pupils half-naked selfies, texts and winking emojis.
Alison Marchese, 39, was suspended from the Connecticut school she and her husband both taught at after a 17-year-old student claimed she performed a sex act on him in the her classroom.
It is understood her husband is now filing for divorce.
Further allegations surfaced that she told one 14-year-old pupil that she “couldn’t concentrate” because he was so “good looking” before asking him to her classroom later in the day.
When he asked her to stop, she replied “I know when to stop, I know when to move on, but ‘I know’ is different from ‘I can’.”
Judge Melanie Cradle slammed the mother-of-two, saying, “You were a teacher and you were in a position of trust. And the bottom line here is the victims are kids and were their teacher.
“A person who is engaged in the noble profession of shaping lives, values and thought processes of our youth," she said.
“It’s certainly a gift you should’ve taken more seriously.”
Marchese’s lawyer, William Dow III, said his client was going through a “tough time” when she committed the crimes.
She pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree unlawful restraint, two of second-degree reckless endangerment, one of second-degree harassment and one of second-degree threatening.
Marchese was ordered to have sex offender treatment, register as a sex offender for ten years and will serve five years probation.
