Seals twirl, show Russian patriotism in bizarre video

Seals show off military skills in hilarious video

Even the seals were in a patriotic mood as Russia marked the 70th anniversary of Nazi Germany's defeat.

Dressed as Soviet Union soldiers, the seals were trained for a performance for the event.

The seals, named Weasel and Winnie the Pooh, can be seen armed with fake rifles and wearing military headgear, diving through obstacles, hoisting a flag and showed off their shooting skills with water guns.

Russia-1 reports the seals reenact scenes 'bravely and courageously'.

"The new show is a logical development of the tricks that our seals learned earlier.

"With every rehearsal they get better and better," Evgeniy Baranov, founder of the world's first seal circus, told the New York Times.

The seals live in a aquarium of temperatures two to three degrees Celsius, to imitate the conditions of Lake Baikal, the deepest lake in the world, the Times reports,

They are fed Baikal oil fish and goby fish, the same as their wild counterparts.

The event took place at an aquarium in Siberia as part of Victory Day celebrations.
