Woolworths reveals 'really cool' Christmas offering for kids - here's how you qualify

Hitting the shops at Christmas with the kids in tow can be one of the most stressful outings for parents - especially when throwing Santa photos into the mix. This year, a new service offered by Woolworths is set to make things a little easier and a bit more relaxed for parents and kids too.

Metro60, the Woolies grocery service that delivers within 60 minutes, is giving Sydney and Melbourne shoppers the opportunity to order a home visit from Santa Claus. Instead of joining the lengthy photo queues at the shops, customers can book Santa to pop in for a visit within an hour.

Apart from saving time, the service allows children who aren't exactly thrilled to sit alone with Santa a more relaxed way to meet him and capture Christmas memories. No more kiddie freak-outs at the shopping centre.

David Berger, co-founder of Metro60, told Yahoo News families can now capture these special memories with Santa in their own homes. "This year, Metro60 will be not only the most convenient way to get your groceries delivered in under 60 minutes, but the easiest and most magical way to surprise your family, kids, or pets with an early visit from Santa," Mr Berger said.

How it works

Shoppers can book a Santa visit via the Metro60 app by using the promo code SANTA when they place an afternoon and evening grocery shop with a minimum $20 spend. Once confirmed, a photographer and Santa will arrive within an hour to take Christmas snaps with the whole family. Even pets can get in on the action. The offer is only available for a limited time though, so get in before December 9 if you want Father Christmas to drop in to your place.

Woolies customer Andrea said her family are short on time during Christmas so this service really helped her out. "It was really cool," she said. "Metro60 made it really convenient for me to have Santa come and do the photos."

Win $100,000 with Woolies

Woolworths is also giving customers the opportunity to score weekly prizes as well as a major prize. Customers who purchase a participating product will automatically receive one entry into the draw and each week one shopper will win $5,000. One lucky person will take out the major prize of $100,000, with the winner announced on January 5.
