How Woolworths shoppers can get triple points on fruit and vegetables

Eligible Woolworths customers will be able to gain triple Everyday Rewards points for 60 days when buying fruit and vegetables.

Shoppers who purchase fruit, vegetables or Macro organic products will be eligible for the triple points – but they must be a policy holder with health insurance company Bupa.

Woolworths said in a statement it was teaming up with Bupa to offer more rewards to customers. Bupa policy holders could earn the extra points if they bought the specified products in the 60 days after linking their Bupa account with their Everyday Rewards.

Woolies customers who sign up for a Bupa couples/families policy from Tuesday could also be eligible to collect up to 130,000 bonus points – which is $650 worth of groceries.

Thos who sign up for a singles health insurance policy could earn up to 80,000 points – which is $400 worth of groceries.

The new partnership, which launched on Tuesday, came as a survey from market research company Ipsos found eating more fresh fruit and vegetables was a priority for Australians over the next year.

Bupa customers will now be able to collect three points instead of one for every dollar they spend on fresh fruit, vegetables and Macro products.

“By giving members the chance to collect more points, they can earn savings towards a future shop faster. This initiative will reward our members for healthy choices and give them added value from their health insurance policy,” Bupa managing director of health insurance Emily Amos said in a statement.

In the coming months, eligible customers will also receive 20 times bonus points on cleaning products, which Woolworths says is the highest bonus points offer yet.

Woolworths director of Everyday Rewards, Hannah Ross, said it was working hard to make it easier and more affordable for customers to make healthier choices.

“This focus on wellbeing has only accelerated in the pandemic, with our customers telling us their number one food priority over the next 12 months is eating more fresh fruit and veggies,” she said.
