Woolworths, Coles, BWS added to growing list of exposure sites

Two more Woolworths stores, a Coles supermarket and a BWS are among more than a dozen new venues added to the rapidly growing list of exposure sites in Sydney.

NSW Health confirmed on Friday afternoon venues in Barangaroo, Double Bay, Cecil Hills, Burwood, Randwick, Rouse Hill, Chipping Norton and Zetland had been exposed to Covid-19.

Anyone who visited Chinese restaurant Lotus in Barangaroo on Sunday June 20 between 12.30pm and 3pm is considered a close contact and must call NSW Health on 1800 943 553, immediately get tested and isolate for 14 days, regardless of the result.

More sites were added to the list on Friday evening, including a Woolworths and a cafe in Bondi and a pub in Waterloo.

NSW recorded 22 new local COVID-19 cases on Friday. There are now 65 cases linked to the Bondi cluster that erupted in the city's east last week.

Stay-at-home orders will come into force from midnight on Friday. People who live or work in Woollahra, Waverley, Randwick and the City of Sydney council areas will not be able to leave home for a week except for essential purposes.

These include work or education, shopping, providing care or outside exercise.

NSW Chief Health Officer Kerry Chant said the stay-at-home orders would act as a "circuit breaker" to give contact tracers time to get on top of exposure sites.
