Woman's strange find in backyard - but can you tell what it is?

Facebook users have been left scratching their heads after a woman posted a photo of a bizarre faeces-like creature – and some think it looks like a “dog turd with eyes”.

British woman Laura Groome, 35, who works as a childminder, was walking in her garden when she spotted the mysterious looking creature earlier this week.

She walked over to take a closer look and at first thought it was a snake.

However, Laura was left confused as the creature didn’t flinch or move like a reptile.

She decided to upload photos of her discovery to Facebook in the hopes of finding out what the creature it was – but was left in stitches by the response from social media.

Facebook users' toilet humour

Facebook users were gobsmacked by the mysterious creature with guesses on what it could be ranging from poo on a kitchen roll to a "dog turd".

“Thought it was s*** on the kitchen roll at first,” one user said.

“Straight to the comments as I definitely thought it was a turd on kitchen roll at first glance,” another user wrote.

“A s***apillar?” a third person joked.

“Not going to lie I honestly thought this was a dog turd,” a fourth person said.

“It looks like dog sh*t with eyes,” a fifth person wrote.

Other users thought the creature looked like a Pokémon, with one person commenting: “Definitely a Pokémon!”

“Pokemon comes to mind,” another user added.

After further research and assistance, Laura realised the creature was in fact an elephant hawk caterpillar that will eventually transform into a beautiful pink moth.

The creature remains in her garden and she told Jam Press it has now buried itself into the soil.
