Woman's scary revelation on TikTok after finding hair in shower
A woman had a petrifying revelation when she discovered a mysterious clump of hair in her shower.
Mia Aurora, from the US, explained in a TikTok video she lived alone in a house.
While friends visit occasionally, she said she mostly went to their homes.
So when she found a clump of hair in the shower, she realised a stranger had been living in her home.
"Every time I'm home I hear the weirdest noises, weird s*** happens all the time that's unexplainable and I just brush it off," she whispers in the video.
She took a deep breath before she added "this is my final straw".
"I'm, like, freaking out right now. I came home wanting to take a shower," she said.
"Nobody uses my shower, nobody."
In the video the woman has opened the shower curtain and panned the camera to show a clump of hair at the bottom of the shower.
"Someone lives in my house that has brown hair, my hair is f***ing pink," she said.
The terrified resident later commented on the video letting people know she was OK and thanked them for their concern.
"I have been staying with my friends the past two nights and will be doing a sweep of my house with friends and investing in some cameras," she said.
One person urged the woman to "lock your doors and windows" while another said "I was so worried".
"Check every corner of the house, check the roof everywhere," another advised.
"Don't do it alone though, get some big tough person or multiple."
"You should call the police and give them the hair so they can DNA test it and figure out who is living in there!! That's so scary," somebody else commented.
Woman's encounter with stranger in home
The woman's story is eerily similar to that of Amber Dawn, who moved into a one-bedroom apartment in Enumclaw, in the US state of Washington, when she was 20.
She told the Criminal podcast in 2017 she heard what sounded like footsteps after she had just moved in.
Bizarre things then began happening – she came home to find her puppy in the sink while cans of soft drink and soup went missing.
She told the podcast she discovered somebody was living in the house with her when her usual schedule changed as she took a sick day from work.
While taking a bath at night, she looked up and saw a manhole in the ceiling was open.
"Everything just slowed way down. I must have sat in that bathtub for 10 to 15 seconds but it felt like five minutes and I put it all together," she said.
"I was like, 'OK the footsteps the first night, the doors being closed when I had left them open, the missing food, my dog in the sink'.
"There was someone living in my house with me."
Ms Dawn got out of the bath and slowly walked past the closet where she suspected the uninvited stranger was hiding.
She grabbed her dog and a hammer and left the house. She called her sister-in-law and the police, who found a sleeping bag, book and food in the attic.
She moved out the next day.
