Woman makes disgusting find in McDonald's sauce

A woman has shared her horror at finding live maggots wriggling inside a McDonald’s ketchup dispenser.

Bella Ritchie was at a McDonald’s outlet in Cambridge in England when she made the horrific discovery. She tweeted a video of the insects moving inside the sauce dispenser on October 3.

“Never going near the ketchup in McDonalds again,” Ms Ritchie wrote on Twitter.

“For those of you who can’t tell, these are MAGGOTS.”

“I told one member of staff and she literally just ignored me and carried on serving customers.”

Social media users were disgusted by the unexpected addition to the sauce.

McNasty that’s why I never eat there anymore,” one user tweeted.

Never going to McDonald’s again,” another Twitter user wrote.

Totally unhygienic,” another wrote.

Probably a healthier source of protein than their mince,” one user quipped.

Ms Ritchie received a response from McDonald’s UK on October 4, after her friends emailed the customer service team.

“Hi Isabella, I’m very sorry to see this happened,” McDonald’s UK tweeted.

The chain asked her to pass on details of the restaurant location and time of her visit so they could investigate.

It comes after a Canberra university student was disgusted to find an unlisted ingredient in her McMuffin in May.
